Taigan Wedding Trends: Video Bridal Registry Takes Brides “Social Chic”

Creating + sharing wedding registry videos is gaining popularity for couples as online boutique marketplace Taigan.com partners with noted home & gift retailer The Mercantile to offer a unique twist to bridal registry

Online Bridal Registry at The MercantileNew York, NYMarch 30– The digital age brings even bridal registry to a new high-tech level: the video bridal registry. Taigan, a collection of wonderfully hand-selected retailers, introduces the new online video bridal registry in partnership with Atlanta-based retailer The Mercantile. The service gives engaged couples a convenient way to share their registry with friends and family around the world via video.

Once the couple creates their bridal registry from a posh line of gifts, home accessories, furnishings and art found at The Mercantile on Taigan, the shop creates a video of the items selected, describing the inspiration behind the couple’s choices, how the pieces work together in their new home, and reminds shoppers how each piece will add to the new life of the couple.

When the registry is completed, couples send the video bridal registry to friends and family via e-mail, Facebook, or any other social media networks, making it convenient and fun for friends and family to shop. Whether across town or across the country, buyers can view the video online and with a click of the mouse, purchase the couple’s registry selections, knowing the special story and meaning of their purchase to the happy couple.

The Best Of Fashion Week

So Fashion Week in New York City is finally over, it seems like that’s all everyone in the fashion world was talking about for a few months now. Bryant Park, the white tents, the celebrities, the fashion designers, it was all about Fashion Week for quite some time. But now that it’s over, in New York City at least, we can all take a moment and recap the best of the best in terms of the clothes, the makeup, the hair and everything in between.

Everyone online is posting about Fashion Week, blogging about the highlights and the must-have pieces of the season, so Taigan is joining in on the conversation.

Picture 1According to an article posted on StyleList.com, the tousled bed hair and smoky eyes inspired by Bridget Bardot and Catherine Deneuve at the Vera Wang show was a total hit. And at Gwen Stefani’s L.A.M.B. show, the smoldering smoky eyes and vibrant red lips were the most fun beauty look.

According to the article, there wasn’t a lot of blush on the models walking the runaway this year. The look was more natural and tawny . The fishtail braids Redken’s Rudi Lewis created for Adam Fall 2010 were a favorite hairstyle. Derek Lam’s show, ‘Myth of the West’ had a parade of blue jeans eyes on the catwalk.

In terms of popular clothes for the Fall season, About.com reports that last year’s jacket is being replaced with this year’s vest. It’s easily wearable by most women and matches different sizes and shapes. One trend that was also mentioned on the website is Colorblocking. After seasons of frills and prints, colorblocking is more about strong graphics and is bright and bold. Lacoste is doing it as well as DKNY. Marc Jacobs collection was all grown-up and sophisticated, filled with wearable furs.

Another trend during this year’s Fashion Week is the whole digital world and technology merging with fashion. Some designers were streaming their fashion shows online, some were Twittering about it, and even some of the clothes were inspired by the 2.0 world. From cool prints to cutouts, manipulated fabric to hi-tech fabrics, fashion has definitely gone digital.

For your very own Fashion Week or Fashion Month for that matter, visit Taigan to shop the many styles of the season in clothes, shoes, accessories and jewelry from an ever-growing collection of shops. You’ll find specialty boutiques like H. Audery, Amanda Pinson Jewelry, Pied Nu, Style Paris by Susan, Migliore and so many more.

Fashion Week is over in New York but it’s about to start for you!
